Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics. Lasea, which contains silexan® lavender oil, has antidepressant, anxiolytic and sedative effects after oral administration. In vitro studies have shown that silexan® interacts with tension-regulated calcium channels (voccs), mainly of the p / q-type, but the mechanism of action or the site of binding to calcium channels has not been elucidated. there are reports that lavender oil affects gamma receptors by potentiating gamma responses. linalool, the main component of lavender oil, interacts with glutamate receptors, inhibits glutamate uptake and release, and modulates gamma receptors.
Pharmacokinetics. After oral administration of 80 mg of Silexan® in a phase I study, 30 minutes after administration of the preparation, the concentration of the main component of the essential oil, linalool, is recorded at a level of 22 ng / ml. The concentration of linalool in blood plasma decreased within 5 hours after administration with an average area under the curve (AUC) of 33 ng · h / ml.
